How do socio-professionals perceive data?
Tourist boards are becoming increasingly aware of the importance of collecting and managing data on their territories. But what about socio-professionals? What are their expectations and perceptions of the digital transition of their offices? Uska invited a number of socio-professionals, accompanied by their tourist offices, to a webinar. A particularly rich exchange of views, enabling tourist offices to provide their tourism service providers with the best possible support!
A sneak preview of the workshop!
Data distribution: a time-consuming and repetitive task!
At Uska, we collect tourist data from over 38,000 tourism professionals for tourist offices. One glaring observation has come to our attention: data distribution and management borders on a headache for many socio-professionals. 🤯
The development of a multitude of digital tools and platforms has led to a multiplication of information entry points. This makes it necessary for socio-professionals to enter their data in several different places. This is a particularly repetitive task, and one that takes time to complete.
"There are often small changes linked to events, to what we add to the rooms, extra services, etc. So there are always changes, and it's true that we have to go to sites like Booking, to the tourist information office... So there are always changes, and it's true that we have to go to 10 sites like Booking, to the tourist office... That's our job, but it takes time" - Thomas Rimey-Meille, manager of the Hotel 1924 in Grenoble.
A number of services are beginning to emerge to centralize all this information, and ultimately redistribute it across the various communication channels. However, there is already, and has been for a number of years, a data distributor: you, the tourist offices!
With the emergence of the Internet giants, tourism professionals tend to prioritize the dissemination of information on the various emerging platforms. And yet, on average, tourist office databases feed between 3 and 6 websites or applications. A considerable asset!
And it's possible to go even further by automatically collecting data from your professionals. Digitizing this task means doing yourself a favor: reducing time and workload with automatic data collection tools like Dahub.
And it also means saving time for our socio-professionals, making them more efficient in the distribution of their data, and avoiding the principle of repetition.
As a reminder, Dahub is a service platform offering customized questionnaires for socio-professionals. One of its major assets is the ability to collect and suggest information already entered on TIS or online. A considerable time-saver for socio-professionals, motivating them to share their information!
Features made possible in part by our new data suggestion module.

About Uska - Since 2017, we've been supporting around 100 tourist destinations in their digital transitions. Improving the quality of tourist information in territories is of paramount importance to us. In addition to our data management services, we raise awareness among tourist offices on topics directly related to their business and our area of expertise: digital data.
Embarking on a digital transition means being able to support socio-professionals at their own pace!
Digital and data have their strengths too! And not the least 😉
Video-conferencing workshops, far activities for 2021, may lack conviviality, but they do have their advantages.
"Lack of availability means that we can't necessarily take part in the workshops [offered by the tourist office]. But I was able to watch several of them [on replay] and it's really quite good. It allows you to follow a little bit, without even having attended. Especially as, if you have a good relationship with the tourist office, you can also get explanations [of any misunderstandings]." - Thierry Marillier, owner of the gîtes and chambres d'hôtes "À deux pas du Rheby" and "À deux pas du Rhône".
A real evolution in the way people use the workshops offered by tourist offices. Enabling a greater number of socio-professionals to take advantage of these services.
With the gradual return of face-to-face events - which we particularly missed - it's still worth considering a means of re-broadcasting. Either by offering a quota of recorded videoconference workshops, or by filming the face-to-face workshops.
This is why we've decided to make the replay of this workshop available to you 😉
